What we collect, why, who we share it with and how we protect it. Snug Lane is a Snug Lane store operated by 2629489 Alberta Inc..
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from snuglane.com (our earlier shop addresses now redirect here), including checkout.snuglane.com, and what we do with it.
Who we are
The store is operated by 2629489 Alberta Inc. (trading as Snug Lane), 330 Bulyea Rd, Edmonton, AB T6R 0W8, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Questions: support@snuglane.com or +1 (412) 284-0573.
What we collect
- Order details you give us at checkout: name, email address, shipping address, phone number (used by the carrier to arrange delivery) and the items you bought.
- Payment details: your card is entered on a Stripe-hosted checkout page and processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number or security code; we only see limited details such as card brand, last four digits, country and whether the payment succeeded.
- Messages you send us, for example about a return or a damaged item, including any photos.
- Basic technical data when you browse: IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring site, recorded by our hosting provider Cloudflare for security, and by Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate visit counts. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
- Ad measurement: if you reach our store from a Google ad, the Google Ads tag on our pages records that ad click, and if you then buy, it reports the order number and order value to Google so we can see which ads lead to sales.
- Your cart is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it survives a page refresh. It is not sent to us until you check out.
How we use it
- To take payment, send your order to the warehouse, ship it, and email your receipt and tracking number.
- To answer questions and handle returns, refunds, damage claims and payment disputes.
- To detect and prevent fraud (Stripe screens every payment).
- To keep the accounting and tax records the law requires.
We do not send marketing emails, we do not run a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising: the only advertising tool on our store is the Google Ads conversion tag described below, with ad personalization turned off.
Who we share it with, and how
We share only what each party needs to do its part of your order:
- Stripe (payment processing and fraud screening) receives your payment and billing details directly when you pay.
- Our fulfilment partners: the supplier and US warehouse holding your item receive your name, shipping address, phone number and the items ordered, so they can pack and ship it.
- Shipping carriers (for example UPS, FedEx, USPS or a freight carrier) receive your name, address and phone number to deliver the package and schedule freight deliveries.
- Service providers that run our systems: Cloudflare (website hosting and security) and Google (email and order records). They process the data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Google Ads (ad measurement): the ad click identifier, the pages of our store you visit after the click, and, if you buy, the order number and value. We have turned off ad personalization signals for this tag, so we do not use it to build advertising or remarketing audiences. Google also processes this data under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
- Authorities or professional advisers when the law requires it, or to protect our rights (for example to answer a chargeback or a lawful request).
Information is disclosed electronically over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, through the partner's own systems or by email. Our providers may store and process it in Canada, the United States or other countries where they operate.
How we protect it
- Every page, and the checkout, runs over HTTPS.
- Card data is handled only by Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1; it never touches our servers.
- Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil and support orders, and our accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for as long as Canadian tax law requires (generally six years after the end of the tax year) and support emails for up to two years after your last order. After that we delete or anonymize them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it (except records we must keep for tax, accounting or dispute purposes). Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws can use the rights those laws give them the same way, and we will not treat you differently for doing so. Email support@snuglane.com from the address you ordered with; we reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Cookies
Our store use the Google Ads tag, which sets first-party cookies (such as _gcl_au, and _gcl_aw after you click one of our Google ads) for up to 90 days to measure whether our ads lead to purchases. Ad personalization is turned off for this tag, and we do not use remarketing. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, and you can control how Google personalizes ads at adssettings.google.com. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie, and Stripe's checkout page uses its own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud.
Children
Our store are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new date. Last updated: October 15, 2026.
